Roofing and solar in Clermont

SECO Energy is the usual cooperative in Clermont. Some Lake County edges differ.

The roofs

Clermont is hillier than the rest of this corridor, which sounds minor until a crew is staging tile on a steep hip overlooking a lake. Newer communities dominate, with tile and shingle both common. Wind off an open lake lot is a real design load even though this is not the high-velocity hurricane zone.

The solar

SECO members should use SECO’s buyback, not a Florida Power & Light average. Open lake exposures are good production sites if the roof geometry faces south or west and the HOA allows the array.
