Roofing and solar in New Smyrna Beach
Many in-town meters belong to the Utilities Commission of New Smyrna Beach, not FPL.
The roofs
Barrier-island and river houses live in salt. Exposed-fastener metal and bargain flashing fail here first. Clay and concrete tile are common, and the underlayment — not the tile you can see — is what hurricane season tests. Mainland New Smyrna is a milder version of the same climate.
The solar
UCNSB is a municipal utility. Its export rules are not FPL’s and not Duke’s. The name on the bill sets the savings math. Corrosion-resistant attachments matter as much as the panel brand.
