The roofs
Sarasota cares what the roof looks like, and the architecture boards and HOAs will say so. Barrel tile, flat tile, and standing-seam metal are all normal. The technical job is still the deck, the underlayment, the hips, and the flashings. A beautiful tile roof on a tired membrane is a leak with good taste.
The solar
This is the high end of the corridor’s sun, on paper. Shade, orientation, and whether the roof will be replaced in the array’s lifetime still dominate the payback. FPL is the usual utility. There is no 30% federal credit for a homeowner-owned system installed in 2026.
