Roofing and solar in Orlando

Inside much of the city the meter is OUC. Unincorporated Orange County is often Duke.

The roofs

Orlando roofs split by neighborhood. College Park and older blocks lean tile, complex hips, and oak shade. Conway, Meadow Woods, and the southeast suburbs are shingle volume. Summer storms are daily, so a missed wall flashing becomes a ceiling stain in one season. The Florida Building Code in force today is the 8th Edition; the 9th Edition takes effect December 31, 2026.

The solar

Air-conditioning load is why Orlando bills justify solar even after the federal homeowner credit ended. OUC and Duke do not pay you the same way for exported power. Model the utility that is actually on the bill, and do not count a 30% federal credit on a 2026 purchase.
